A submarine's combat information centre is smaller than any design would like, and that is not negotiable.
A capability upgrade for the Jangbogo class — 56 metres, 1,200 tonnes — taking the combat system of the later 214 boats as its base.
Carrying a newer system into an older hull means the limits set the design rather than the other way round. The space in the CIC and what the multifunction console can physically do decided what could be brought across.
