Condition in which what a system will do is settled in advance by someone who will not be present when it happens, so the ordinary correction — seeing it go wrong and stopping it — is unavailable by construction rather than by oversight.

04 WHAT AEON WORKED THROUGH HERE

Every choice on the surface was a choice about something that would happen when the person making it could not watch, ask, or take it back. Defaults were not conveniences here; whatever was left untouched became a decision. The work went into showing each setting as the event it would become — who receives what, and when — so that the parts nobody had thought about were visible as parts nobody had thought about.

What stays unresolved is what standing in for that person looks like — anyone given authority to intervene has authority the absent person did not grant them, and leaving no one means the settings run exactly as written including the parts that were never thought through.
