PARTIAL VIEW RECONCILIATION
One object between two people, showing each of them a different face.
01 DEFINITION
Condition in which a single device stands between two people and presents a different face to each, so what each is being shown is unavailable to the other, and neither can tell whether the exchange is going as they think it is.

04 WHAT AEON WORKED THROUGH HERE
A device standing between two people carried the exchange in both directions, and each of them saw only their own side of it. One was reading something the other had not finished writing; the other was waiting through a silence that meant typing and could have meant anything. The work went into what each face says about the other — that something is coming, that it has been read — so that neither of them was running the conversation blind.
What stays unresolved is what each side is owed about the other's face — showing both to both turns the object into a document they read together rather than a channel between them, and showing neither leaves each of them running a conversation they can only half see.
