04 WHAT AEON WORKED THROUGH HERE
The words were typed and something else had to say them, which meant something else had to settle how they sounded. Flat delivery was heard as indifference; warm delivery was heard as the person being warm. Neither was chosen by the person whose words they were. The work went into which parts of manner the person sets and which the system may fill in, and into showing them what actually went out.
What stays unresolved is who answers for the manner — a flat delivery is itself a manner and is heard as coldness, and one shaped to sound natural is a performance the person did not give and will be held to.
