04 WHAT AEON WORKED THROUGH HERE
The set was past the size where moving through it reaches anything, so it had to be entered by the one ordering everybody already knew. That ordering turned out to be lumpy: most of the material sat in a few short stretches. The work went into what the control should be proportional to, given that neither answer is the one the person is holding in mind.
What stays unresolved is whether the control should follow the attribute or the content — a scale that matches the ordering makes empty stretches as long as full ones, and one that matches the volume stops meaning anything the person can name.
