04 WHAT AEON WORKED THROUGH HERE
The current pass and everything before it were laid over one another, because that is how a change becomes visible at all. What the overlay did not carry was which part was still open — the part where doing something differently would still make a difference. The work went into drawing that line without breaking the comparison the overlay existed for.
What stays unresolved is where the boundary between the two belongs — it moves as the work proceeds, and marking it accurately means redrawing it continuously in the part of the picture that is hardest to read.
